Hoila from the FinKa!

Ein Finanzer am Schreibtisch mit Telefon

Over a glass of wine, I realized that our FinKa needed a voice to reach out into the world. Because here in the Vinschgau, stories pile up – far too many to keep to ourselves.

In the past, this was the place to report smuggling and tax dodges – today, it’s where we share stories from the FinKa What was once strictly confidential is now out in the open: festivals and culinary delights, a philosophy of Knödel and long communal tables. Road trips through the valley, genuine moments of Vinschgau hospitality – and yes, even my Fernweh.

And if you don’t just want to read these stories but experience them, come visit us at the FinKa Culture Hostel in Mals. You can book a room anytime right here:

FinKa-Building

Here, Vinschgau hospitality takes shape.

Located in the center of Mals, at the heart of the Lago di Resia holiday region in the Upper Vinschgau, for over 50 years stands a building that once served as a barracks – clearly visible, yet for a long time hidden behind fences and walls. Where order and discipline once prevailed, today the FinKa: an open-minded place shaped by history, hospitality, and flair.

What to expect here:

HOSPITALITY | Encounters around the FinKa. About arriving, staying, and moving on – and everything in between.

VINSCHGAUWÄRTS | Stories from the valley, from the guests who come to us, and from what they find here.

FESTIVAL & CULTURE | Events, concerts, and the FinKa Festival. Of short and long nights spent in good company.

FERNWEH | A host on the road. Of road trips and detours.
